Printers progress....

Things are a little crazy due to trying to unpack the last of the boxes stored after the fire- I think I have lost the will to throw anything away........well you never know when your house may burn down (again!) and you suddenly find you only have half on your stuff left so throwing away half of it in advance could mean you really have hardly anything left! Did that make any sense? If no then you are clearly taking my husbands side in this debate!
I did find some of my screen printing/gocco stuff, of course neither of them work without the ink/actual gocco press (not so useful ) but it has inspired me to start dreaming of what I could make (should box 2 ever be discovered!) so here are the pearls in the oysters.........
Emma in Canberra has been attending a evening class in screen printing- like a duck to water if you ask me!

I am a huge fan of bespoke press
and I hope to convince mr m he needs to buy me this print soon.....

I love text and would like to have a hidden word in each room,( panic would be quite fitting for the kitchen!) and the words above are probably the nearest to a definition of me as could ever be written!(maybe not the word tart!)

Please, please,please?

above are 2 half finished views of my hallway- I am thinking of something behind the letters maybe, or poss replacing the center picture with something a bit more funky.
What do you think?

I also unpacked these lovely books from here and here so I think I'm going to have plenty of ideas and if I can't find the rest of my kit Imay end up getting the potatoes out and nicking my kids poster paints!

wip crcohet......

I have been a very busy bee with my crochet hooks this week, nothing quite finished but here's a few works in progress........ a necklace-( you would never believe it but 2 seperate men commented on how nice it was- that's right men, would you believe it?) Not my husband, he did the "are you going to wear that" look.....Bless him!

as always my work room is a jumble of lovely things- impossible to find anything especially when I am helping out a friend with her craft fair stall soon....
I think I have finally found the finishing touch for this plain blue velvet lampshade above....these will hopefully find a home too....... which makes me think maybe a lil' ol' giveaway might be in order...... if I can find where I put the brooch clips!

WOW, My husband just rang and offered to take me shopping to buy me a a new dress for a black tie medieval dinner we are going to tomorrow- so I'm off to the medieval evening dress shop, or maybe just to monsoon to buy this..............Good old boy, better not do his "you aren't wearing that look" or it will cost him!

feeling a bit crochetty

I must admit to being completely jealous of the tons of lovely crochet blankets filling the house of Lucy at Attic 24, but for ages whenever I looked at a crochet pattern it seem to be in Finnish, but I have had my Eureka moment at its all fallen into place (at a very beginner level of course!) and so I have a growing pile of granny squares in my old wool bag, and should I ever make it passed beginner level here's some of the things that are inspiring me......
(yes, very ambitious!)

so cute

I definitely like the idea of covering some of my old bangles with a crochet stitch like the center ring of this pretty necklace. But of course, as its me, the idea is to incorporate crochet into my lampshade designs more..............

modern dose

Daily poetics
I dont think I'll quite manage these above, but I am very inspired by rose hips lovely edging

but I have to finish my old wool collection before I can buy anymore so all these ideas will have to remain in my notebook (till I find a good wool shop nearby) then the world will be my oyster!

dreamcart

Now and again I shop till I drop-but only virtually- so this is my dreamcart this week........

a little warmth

piper and paisley

(sorry I have lost the link for these socks!)

and for my bedroom

from monsoom home

(its actually more eau de nil than green)
and I definately have to add this

But I think I need your advice about my lounge it feels a little dull, like a catalogue page

I did 2 walls in the stone colour and then gave up, but I think the black and white frames are wrong, I think I need to add more white maybe with a little brass on the frame.....and perhaps a darker cushion, maybe dark brown? Something as a contrast? The other sofa is a softer one covered in a beige checked linen with varied beige linen cushions and a few red check ones. I think there's too much beige and its need a bit of oomph, any ideas?
I do have a couple more lamps I'm gonna, because its becoming an obsession!

Here's a few I have been having fun making this week.............
