buy it now beginner

I have just come across some info that might help all you crafters with little shops or dreams of having somewhere simple to sell from- I have found out a really cool and cheap way of sticking a buy it now paypal button (after publishing this I have discovered that blogger seems to block them-but it is perfect for blog writers who have written their own pages without using a blogging host or you can link off blogger to a simple page where you can present the images details and add the button)

This is one I have customized with a free downloadable button creator but the default setting is the usual orange paypal"add to cart" button, you can even add 2 text or drop down boxes so customers can select specific colours or send you info to personalize items. I haven't actually sold anything with one yet but I have sent loads of things to my own shopping cart and all the info has been correct, so far! Basically you need to have a paypal business account ( not sure if you can use it with an ordinary acount) and know a little html, and of course have a page to put the code into ( I think that theoretically they would go in the side of a blog quite nicely- if the one above works ok) and it's really is simple- Just sign into your paypal account and click on merchant services then look down for the link to paypal shopping cart and click on it- it will take you through the steps to build a buy it now button the second page let you add the boxes and arrange for customers to send you their address etc, after you feel comfortable with this step you will probably be able to change the code manually yourself for each item. Then you need to add it to your webpage ( you may need to know have to align things in the centre) and all you pay is the normal paypal charge on each sale. For a few tips on html you can try here and for colour details you can try here. I have written my entire website just using these 2 resourses and hope to finish setting up a complete buy it online system for all my soft furnishings ( its taking a while as there are so many size options!) If you fancy having a go let me know how you get on, and if you have any problems I'll see if I can help- its quite simple really just perhaps worth trying when your children are in bed so you can concentrate better! Regards, Zia

Hi Zia, that all seems a little technical for me - I can't even post my photos right! - I tried the tips you left on my blog (I use a MAC too) but I couldn't even cut and paste them! - Thanks anyway - natalie x
